About healthy me
The purpose of the virtual health promotion school "Bria Lee" is to impart knowledge and information on health issues to people with disabilities so that they can take control and responsibility for their health and adopt a lifestyle as healthy as possible.
Despite the growing awareness in Israel of the importance of promoting health in the context of preventing disease and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, there is still no content adapted to the population of these service recipients. Moreover, the ability of a person with a disability to choose their own lifestyle will also allow a sense of empowerment and the ability to control different areas of life.
Hence the need to develop accessible and adapted information for this population for service recipients who can consume it themselves and in cases where it is necessary to mediate the staff in the day-to-day frameworks of the Disability Administration and in addition, family members and guardians will be able to make use of the information and mediate it to the service recipients.
The project is based on the right to receive clear and understandable information, which is a right enshrined in the Law on Equal Rights for People with Disabilities.
As part of the online school, you can find content on different and varied topics in the health field.
